Dr Gayathri Kumarasinghe

Consultant Physician and Cardiologist
Dr Gayathri Kumarasinghe is a clinical and academic cardiologist, with special interests in advanced heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac MRI and adult congenital heart diseases. She graduated from UNSW, completed cardiology training at St. Vincent's Hospital, and was awarded FRACP in 2012. She received a National Heart Foundation Postgraduate Research Scholarship and was awarded her PhD in cardiac transplantation through UNSW and Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute in 2016. Her PhD research won her the awards of President's Prize and Young Investigator Awards from the Transplantation Society of Australia and New Zealand. She has published in peer reviewed journals and presented her research internationally. She undertook a Postdoctoral Fellowship in pulmonary hypertension, cardiac MRI and adult congenital heart diseases at Oxford, UK and returned to work in Sydney.
Dr. Kumarasinghe is a VMO at the Mater Hospital, a Staff Specialist at Liverpool and Fairfield Hospitals, Hon Consultant at St. Vincent's Hospital and conducts Indigenous Cardiac Clinics at Budyari Clinics, Miller. She is a Conjoint Lecturer at UNSW.
